Item Description
Complete set of four coins issued by the US Mint in 2007 to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown, VA., the first English settlement in America. Coins come in uncirculated and proof Silver Dollars as well as uncirculated and proof $5 gold coins. Each comes in nice quality box w/sleeve and each (w/exception of uncirculated Silver Dollar) contains 2-5/8x3.75" velvet-covered, hinged-lid case which contains coin. These cases include metal attachment of the US Mint on the outside of the cases, w/velvet-covered inserts holding coins. The Silver Dollar coin bears image of "Three Faces Of Diversity" by Donna Weaver on obverse, representing the three cultures that came together at Jamestown and a depiction of the three ships that brought settlers to Jamestown by Susan Gamble on reverse. Coins were minted at Philadelphia and are 90% silver. The gold coins bear image of Captain John Smith greeting American Indian by John Mercanti on obverse and a current rendering of the Jamestown Memorial Church by Susan Gamble on reverse. Coins were minted at West Point and are 90% gold. Comes with US Mint COAs. Mint as issued. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
