Item Description
Shortest ribbon is 5.5" and longest with suspended tassel is 8.5". Fourth has a large safety pin sewn on the reverse while the other four were apparently worn with loose safety pin or straight pin. Upper corners have tiny tack holes from previous mounting. Second ribbon has dust soil and a couple of missing fringe tassels. Light traces of dust soil on the first and fifth but these are still Fine and the third and fourth are VF. In order these read "J. Raymond Wellman H. & L. Co. No. 3./Friendship, N.Y./Salamanca, Aug. 9th, 1882." Second reads "Friendship, Sept. 7, 1887." Third is "Compliments Of Frank T. Smith/Corning, N.Y. With Elliott 1 Hose, At Friendship, N.Y. Sept. 7th, 1887." Fourth is "Compliments Of Joe Gorton Hose/1/Friendship, N.Y. With Smethport Hose/1/Smethport, P.A. July 4, 1889." Fifth is "Friendship Coffee Brigade, Friendship, N.Y." with hand painted depiction of coffee cup and saucer. This one has silver tassel.
