Item Description
Ribbons are 7-8" tall and the fifth item, a diamond shaped piece of leather is 3.75" tall. Ribbons are without pins and were likely worn with safety pin or straight pin. Upper corners have two tiny pin holes from previous mounting. First is "Chas. G. Weith./Pritchard Hose/Annual Parade/Of/C.F.D./At Home/Corning, N.Y. Thursday, Sept. 18th, 1888." NM. Second is "Independent Hose Co. No. 3/Corning, NY./26th Annual Parade/Sept 13th 1888/At Home/Our Guest/Joe Gorton Hose #1/Friendship NY./Protection Hose No.1/Athens Pa/Active Hose No.1/Lyons, N.Y." NM. Third is "Norman/Steamer & Hose Co./Watkins, N.Y./Guest Of Pritchard/Hose Co./Corning, N.Y. Sept 13 1888." Upper half is somewhat darkened. Fourth item consists of cardboard tag joined by a small ribbon to the large ribbon. Tag has penciled inscription "Ex Pressman/Friendship NY" with printed text "From Corning Firemen's Parade, Corning N.Y. September 13 1888" Gold text on the large ribbon is "If I Get To Full, Please Direct This Tag And Send Me Home. Tell The Folks It Was The Old Stomach Difficulty." Some tiny age marks and trivial stain on the larger ribbon but still Fine. Fifth item is leather diamond shaped with cord holding miniature wood billy club at center. Text on leather reads "Jamestown/Fire Police/Corning, N.Y., Sept. 13, 1888." Light dust over the upper half.
