This piece probably hung from a ribbon badge as there is the slightest trace of fabric above reverse collet at top. Front is a beautiful sepia photo without dot pattern. Reverse celluloid reads "Naiad Hose Co., 11th Annual Convention/2/F.C.V.F.A./Canton, Pa./Towanda, Pa." Initials stand for organization Five County Volunteer Firemen's Association (of Northern Pa.)" Their second annual convention was in 1897 so that makes their 11th in 1906 when this piece was used. The five counties are Bradford, Tioga, Wyoming, Susquehanna, Sullivan. Only the most trivial traces of surface wear. High gloss and a beautiful piece.
