Item Description
1.25". No maker name or back paper and with a bit heavier than usual oxidation on the metal back but causing no problems to the celluloid. Button pictures "E.L. Roberts Founder" with dates of 1911-1936 and text "Silver Anniversary Timpanogos Summit Club." Between 1912 and 1971 this was a hike up the 11,750 foot mountain. The event was started by Brigham Young University's coach Eugene Roberts pictured on this button. Beginning in 1930 badges for those completing the hike were awarded. By 1970 some 3,500 people were reaching the top and with this large number BYU and U.S. Forest Service discontinued the hike. Cello is Exc. and displays Mint. Only example we've seen.
