Item Description
All from 1957. Manila folder titled “I.C.D. 227 Macy’s Comics Premiums” holds comics. Each is 5x7” w/laminated front covers and 32 blank pages. First title has original color pencil art cover titled “Macy’s Christmas Comics” showing Santa holding puppy as kids look in window. Other four are proposed “Macy’s Comic Stars” line w/hand colored photo stat covers incorporating “Harvey Comic Hits” masthead. Includes Blondie, Casper, Sad Sack, Mazie. Comes w/11 typewritten inter-office memos, each 8.5x11” and one handwritten sheet including cost of publication. Comics have light rippling, paperwork has some aging w/creases here and there. Overall VG/Fine. Interesting group designed to compete w/“March of Comics” but never produced. Unique.
