Item numbers 1 through 1144 in auction 209
Item Description
25.25x39.75" stiff paper poster features striking and vibrant abstract design by Max Bill, a Swiss architect, artist, painter, typeface designer, industrial designer and graphic designer. Poster was printed in Germany, ©1972 Edition Olympia. German text at bottom translates to "Olympic Games Munich 1972." The games took place Aug. 26 to Sept. 10, 1972, the sporting nature of which was largely overshadowed by the Munich Massacre in which 11 Israeli athletes and coaches, a West German police officer, and five Black September militants were killed. Poster has minor handling wear but displays Exc. as rolled. From the Hake Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
