Item Description
5x8" glossy card has full figure photo image of Kid Chocolate in boxing attire w/nice black ink inscription in Spanish signed using his fighting name "Kid Chocolate." Dated "3/20/31." Text at bottom has his real name (Eligio Sardinas) and touts him as the "World's Greatest Boxer." Text also includes manager's New York City address and phone number. Photo is lightly but evenly yellowed w/age w/trace of lt. dust soiling. Card has some handling wear w/scattered creases and minor corner foxing. Fine overall. Fantastic image w/bold inscription/signature. Kid Chocolate was Junior Light Weight Champion from 1931-1933 and the NY World Featherweight Champion from 1932 to 1934. He won a total of 131 bouts, losing nine w/six draws. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
