Item Description
c.1925 for 1926 season. 12.5x16.75” embossed suede cover w/ 96 slick and matte paper pages. Highlights include full page ads for: Friz Lang "Metropolis", D.W. Griffith "Sorrows of Satan" (4 pages), Erich Von Stroheim "The Wedding March", W.C. Fields "So’s Your Old Man", James Cruze "The Covered Wagon", Dorothy Gish "Nell Gwyn", "Old Ironsides" (4 pages), "Beau Geste", "The Greatest Show On Earth"(4 pages). Other full page star ads include: Harold Lloyd (4 pages), Gloria Swanson, Pola Negri, Eddie Cantor, Wallace Beery. Also includes small photos of Clara Bow, Louise Brooks, William Powell. Contents were originally string bound. String is no longer present but will allow the winning bidder to frame individual sheets if desired. Trace of moisture has caused a few pages here and there to stick together causing a few tiny bits of missing surface paper. Previous exhibitor has written a few small pencil notes on a few ads, easily erasable. Die-cut holes in blank margin edges have tiny splits, but images areas are otherwise bright, clean, and Fine overall. Superb design and graphics throughout. Extremely limited distribution, just sent to theater owners and those in the trade. Exceptional!
