All c. 1943. First is 8.5x11” unsigned carbon copy of Oct.26,1943 typewritten letter sent from writer Fran Striker to comic strip artist Charles Flanders involving a request from “Mr. Trendle” for “A Full Length Picture of Dan” to be sent to Felix Holt at station address. Next is 8.5x11” typewritten sheet describing how Dan should look. Last two items are pair of 8x10” glossy publicity photos. First is photo of model for Dan on white horse incorporated into western valley setting © L.R. Co.1943. Second has painting captioned “Dan Reid And Victor” © The Lone Ranger, Inc. Descriptive sheet has text corrections, group otherwise Fine/VF. Plot line had Dan Reid introduced as the 14 year old son of the Lone Ranger’s brother who was killed in a massacre only survived by the Lone Ranger. Dan’s horse is the son of Silver. Unique and historic. From the archives of Detroit’s WXYZ and obtained by former long time station employee Jiam DesJardin.
