Item Description
9-3/8x9-5/8” Monogram illustration board has pencil text at lower left “© 1938 by L.R. Inc.”. 7-3/8x7.75” India ink image area has classic image of Lone Ranger racing across plains on Silver. Right side has “Tonto” and left side has “Silver”. Words “Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.” have been lightly crossed out in pencil as part of the design process. Board has light even aging, blank bottom corner tips have light bumps. Image area will mat and frame to VF+ appearance. This design was proposed but never used. It morphed into the classic “horseshoe” seal (example image shown next to the art) used on countless products over the years. Unique. One of the most amazing Lone Ranger items we’ve seen or offered in our 47 years. A true “must have” for any Lone Ranger collection. From the archives of Detroit’s WXYZ and obtained by former long time station employee Jiam DesJardin.
