Item Description
Nice quality Gothic style frame (w/o glass) measuring 18x18.25" contains original oil painting that has been professionally matted (w/suede-like mat) to 7.5x10.75". Art is by Gerald Brom (known professionally as Brom), a gothic fantasy artist and illustrator, known for his work in role-playing games, novels, comic books and movies. This piece is entitled "Miss Muffet" and is one of Brom's most widely recognized and admired pieces. Painted in 1994, art shows a woman sitting in thigh-high leather fetish boots, wearing a corset and long black gloves. Her red hair is in an upright ponytail and her face is covered by an odd, almost featureless mask, save for insect-like eye coverings. She appears to cower away from a dangling Black Widow spider, the subject matter and the painting's name an obvious reference to the popular nursery rhyme "Little Miss Muffet." The woman is seated upon a tombstone in a dreary graveyard setting. A minor 5/8" long thin scuff to her thigh (top of boots) does not distract greatly and is only noticeable upon close inspection. Art displays NM o/w. A stunning Brom original.
