Item Description
6.5x8.5" original glossy dated 3-14-1933. Great image of Babe standing next to Jacob "Jake" Ruppert, owner of the Yankees (and recently elected to the HOF). Reverse has attached publicity paper detailing salary negotiations between the two men who are shown here meeting at the Yankees Florida camp. Text includes "The Picture Was Made After The Men Had Held A Conference As To Ruth's 1933 Salary. The Babe Demands $60,000 And Colonel Ruppert Is Said To Have Offered His Drawing Card No More Than $50,000 For The Season." Reverse also has "International New Photos, Inc" stamp as well as name inked over this. Babe's days as a player for the Yankees (and in general) were coming to an end, 1934 would be his final year with the team. Photo has lt. handling wear mostly only visible in reflected light.
