Item Description
From the same set as #988. Glossy photo front w/text below portrait "Rojo Base Ball." Sharp and bold image. Rojo played in four different decades in the Cuban Winter League and in three decades in the Negro Leagues, perhaps the longest career of a Cuban catcher in the Negro Leagues. Rojo's 21 seasons in the Cuban Winter League were fifth all-time after Jose Maria Fernandez, Chacon, Mike Gonzalez and Martin Dihigo. Inducted into the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1984. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
