Item Description
18x23" sign promoting weekly radio mystery/detective drama program that aired on regional CBS radio network from May 16, 1942 until Sept. 22, 1955. During 1947-1948 the show was sponsored by "Household Finance Corporation." Includes imprint for "WJR" Detroit, MI. radio station. Sign features great silhouette image of Shadow-inspired character wearing hat and whistling a tune w/text that reads "Mystery At Its Best." Sign has some scattered wear including a 5.25" hairline scratch across "HTC" logo at bottom center and moderate aging to white borders. If framed, sign would display VF and make for a great display. Very rare, the only other Whistler item we have seen was an ink blotter we offered back in 2005 and even that is scarce. First we've seen.
