Classic 13" tall mostly tin robot designed after Robby The Robot from the classic sci-fi film "Forbidden Planet." Nomura, Japan. c. 1957. Original box features lid w/great illustrations on all sides. Box has scattered aging, w/lid moderately but evenly aged and some surface paper rubs at corners. Lid has some handling wear w/a few creases but box remains tight and free of splits. Box bottom has some scattered moisture staining. Box displays Fine overall. Toy works and walks forward as pistons and lights operate inside the clear plastic dome. Arms are manually adjustable from side to side and original rubber hands remain pliable. Early version w/knob style pulls on D battery box doors. Trace of oxidation to interior of one battery box but does not affect operation. Plastic dome remains clear and free of cracks. Body has scattered trace of wear but remains exceptionally bright and glossy. Appearance remains Exc. A truly classic robot toy.
