Item Description
12" tall tin litho robot w/hard vinyl arms and hard plastic interior head. c. 1960 by Nomura of Japan. Original illustrated cardboard box reads "Space Robot With TV Camera And Screen." Box is complete w/four original cardboard inserts and lid has slightly faded and has lt. dust soiling. Box lid has handling wear w/.5" tear to edge, .5" tear to bottom of one end panel, creases and corner tip wear, but corners remain free of splits. VG/Fine. Toy features great detailing on body including dials/gauges and "X-70" designation. Tin litho head is in three sections which open to reveal head unit w/camera that has three lenses plus screen which has space scene. Tin body shows just lt. scattered wear. Toy works- lights on top and neck flash, walks, stops, head panels open, TV camera revolves w/flashing light and noise. Panels retract, actions start again. Spring head mechanism works well so panels stay closed and open when supposed to. Displays nicely w/clean battery compartment. Exc. Scarce.
