Item Description
7.5x22.25" Craftint artboard has 6x19.75" India ink image area w/Lulu in all four panels for Jan. 30, 1952 daily strip. Mother is leaving and tells Alvin to use wash basin instead of bathtub because he makes a mess. Babysitter Lulu tells him it's bedtime, hears a loud splash, and rushes upstairs. Her curls raise in the air as she sees Alvin happily relaxing in basin which has overflowed. Panel one has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Art is unsigned, but likely by longtime Marge comic strip strip assistant Woody Kimbrell. Blank margins have aging, last panel has faint glue streak at lower right. Rest of image area is Exc. Well drawn early example for strip which began in 1950. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
