Item Description
Lot of 40 different 3.5x5.5" postcards, including two by Tuck, six by Whitney and two by Gibson. c. early 1900s-1920. All depict a witch or witches as the main theme w/cards also including jack-o-lantern pumpkins/moons, witches flying on broomsticks, tiny devils and vegetable men, playing cards, pumpkin-headed scarecrows, crows, black cats, owls, bats, cauldrons, etc. One card features witch surrounded by large horseshoe, another shows a witch snatching a small crying child. 28 of the 40 have either writing or are postally used. Some designs include embossing, metallic and sparkle glitter accents to one card. Varying degrees of handling wear. Two cards have some scattered flaking to surface and are Good. Two other cards have moderate-heavy age staining and are Good. 10 have moderate handling wear/aging and are VG overall, a few have small tears at edges. Eight have less moderate handling wear w/a few creases and are VG/Fine. Rest are Fine overall. Great designs. An instant collection. All shown online.
