Lot of 40 different 3.5x5.5" postcards, including one by Gibson, five by Tuck and five by Whitney. One card features art by Ellen H. Clapsaddle. c. early 1900s-1920. All depict jack-o-lantern pumpkins as the main theme w/one card showing jack-o-lanterns in dirigible airship basket. Cards also show ghosts, black cats, children in costume, pumpkin-headed scarecrows, etc. One card features great image of two black cats pulling wheeled jack-o-lantern cart that two children ride as bats fly overhead. Another neat design has black cat and jack-o-lantern looking on as boy and girl attempt to bite same apple in spin on bobbing for apples. Another great die-cut design w/witch girl trapping black cat within jack-o-lantern in front of large pumpkin house. One card serves as an unused Halloween Party invitation. 29 of the 40 have either writing or are postally used. Some designs include embossing and metallic accents, one card is die-cut as previously noted. Three cards have heavy-moderate aging/wear. Die-cut card has some moderate creasing at center. Good/VG. Six others have moderate handling wear w/corner tip wear and some creasing/dust soiling. VG. Rest of cards have varying degrees of handling wear/aging and are Fine-VF overall. Great designs.
