Item Description
Lot of 39 different 3.5x5.5" postcards, including two by Tuck, five by Whitney and three by Bergman. One card features art by Ellen H. Clapsaddle. c. early 1900s-1920. Thanksgiving theme depicts Pilgrims, the Mayflower, turkeys, Thanksgiving dinner, harvest images, a few w/anthropomorphic vegetable and jack-o-lanterns/pumpkins, etc. Card designs include - turkey wearing pistols and belt to protect himself, turkey w/Mayflower image in spread tailfeathers, turkey pulling pumpkin/cornucopia cart and Uncle Sam sitting down and being served turkey. Only eight of the 39 have either writing or are postally used, rest are unused old store stock from a pharmacy. Some designs include embossing and metallic accents. Varying degrees of handling wear, a few have handling wear w/corner tip wear and a small tear here and there. VG/Fine. Remaining cards have some handling wear/aging and are Fine-VF overall.
