Item Description
16.25x21.75" high quality wood frame contains original India ink art that has been professionally double-matted to 9.75x14.75". Page #13 has five panels showing The Phantom about to be cut by scalpel, boldly punching doctor, and threatening another. Signed in ink at lower left "Don Newton 1976." Paste-over of skull in first panel has lightly tanned w/age, o/w art is Exc. Don Newton (1934-1984) drew "The Phantom" for Charlton between Oct., 1975 and Jan., 1977. A prime action page w/superb line work. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
