18x22" stiff cardboard store sign features nice photo image of baseball legend Willie Mays w/Chesterfield cigarette in hand and a pack of Chesterfield cigarettes at lower left. c. 1950s, during Mays' tenure w/the New York Giants (1951-1957) as noted by small "N.Y. Giants Star" text under his facsimile signature. There are smaller 8x10" paper versions of this sign, this is by far more superior given its size and sturdy construction. Sign features Mays' "Say Hey" catchphrase. Sign had left margin trimmed by original owner, partially obscured Mays' testimonial, but does not affect his image. Sign is o/w bright and glossy. Fine overall.
