17.5x23.5" thick Crescent artboard is prototype design for 1950s menu board. Top margin has color-tinted cut-out paste-overs of Campbell's "C" chef tipping his chef's hat and image of a bowl of soup. Text at top reads "Enjoy Campbell's Soups - Today's Specials" and has blackboard-like slots below where specials were to be written in chalk. All text has been hand-painted as has border. Penciled "White" editorial note under soup bowl image indicates final design featured white bkg. Heavy horizontal crease at center breaks surface on back, but not front. Corner tip wear. Still displays Fine. Unique item for the Campbell's collector.
