Item Description
Lot of four original 8x10" glossy publicity photos, two w/Associated Booking Corp., one w/Shaw Artists Corporation and other w/Gale Agency Inc. management info at lower right corners. c. late 1950s-1960, each has inkstamp date on reverse. Performers include - Cozy Cole (Dec. 3, 1958), who was hired by CBS radio as part of the network's first mixed race orchestra; Sonny Stitt (March 9, 1959), regarded as one of the best saxophonists of his generation, recording over 100 albums; Louis Jordan (April 18, 1960) And His Tympany Five (Jordan was known as "King Of The Jukebox) and Buddy Johnson (Jan. 28, 1957), jazz/blues pianist and bandleader. Stitt photo has "PoPsie" photographer mark while Jordan and Johnson are both marked "James. J. Kriegsman." Scattered lt. handling wear/aging. VF-Exc. overall.
