Item Description
Lot of five original 8x10" glossy publicity photos, two w/Shaw Artists Corporation, one Vee Jay Records, Inc., one Circle Artists Corp. and one w/James Evans management info at lower corners. c. 1950s-1960, three have inkstamp date on reverse. Performers include - music legend Ray Charles (Sept. 19, 1960); blues legend John Lee Hooker, who developed a trademark talking blues style; Buster Brown, a blues and R&B singer; Wynonie "Mr. Blues" Harris (July, 1952), regarded as one of rock and roll's forerunners and Titus Turner (July 22, 1960), an R&B singer/songwriter known for his song "Leave My Kitten Alone." Ray Charles photo has "James. J. Kriegsman" photographer mark while Harris has "E. Ray Bonomo Studios" mark. Scattered lt. handling wear/aging. Ray Charles photo has .25" tear along top right margin. Fine but could be matted for an Exc. display. Rest are VF-Exc. overall.
