Item Description
Written to York newsman and friend Harry McLaughlin on 7.25x10.5" stationary. Letterhead reads "Richard Nixon/La Casa Pacifica/San Clemente, California." Dated November 29, 1979. Letter reads: "Dear Harry," (in Nixon's hand). Typed content reads "Your Stories On Mamie Eisenhower Were Outstanding. David And Julie Particularly Appreciated Them. I Am Enclosing Another Contribution To The Nature Center. With Warm Regards, Sincerely,". Inked initials "RN." At bottom below McLaughlin's office address is typed "P.S. Please Give My Best To Saul Kohler. He Was One Of The Ablest And Fairest Members Of The White House Press Corp." Letter has two horizontal folds from mailing. Lot includes 3.5x8.5" actual check stub with names at upper left "Richard Nixon/Patricia R. Nixon." Also comes with photocopy of check signed by him with stub attached. All NM.
