6.75x20-7/8” thin art board has 5-1/8x17” India ink image area w/three individual gag panels for Feb. 2. First is titled “The Battling Browns” w/husband cleaning up and about to throw out cat as wife yells. Center is titled “Luke And His Uke” w/Luke singing about restaurant hash to his girlfriend as soldier in foreground is about to shoot himself. Bottom has credit “Rhyme By Young Black Joe”. Third is titled “Famous Trouble Makers” showing “Somerset J. Dizzy, Inventor Of The Revolving Door”. Signed in ink “RL Goldberg” in last panel. Bottom margin has ink title, artists signature, date in Goldberg’s hand. Trace of lt. dust soil and aging. Image area VF. Funny early example by the artist known for “Boob McNutt” and “Goldberg Inventions”. He became first president of the National Cartoonist’s Society in 1946 and sculpted their Reuben Award.
