Item Description
First is 9" tall with exceptionally long brass tassels. At center a separate flag ribbon goes through a slot on a 1-7/8" flat piece of celluloid with steel engraving portrait of McKinley beneath the text "Patriotism-Protection-Prosperity." Bottom edge names badge maker "Thos. Jay Gleason." Text on the larger fabric reads "Republican State Convention 1898./Hamilton Co./Ohio." Two pinholes at top and light .25" stain mark at bottom. VF. Second item is 6" tall with flag bow at top which has stickpin on reverse. Issued for "Delegate/Republican State Convention/Columbus, O. June 21-22, 1898." Couple trivial wrinkles. Last, undated but likely 1898, features beautiful large embossed eagle and flag hanger suspending by a separate bar a 6" ribbon with an additional 2.5" cord holding a brass tassel. Bold gold lettering "Buckeye Republican Club Columbus, Ohio." Tiniest traces of age. Exc. Rarely seen items from Sen. Charles Dick Collection.
