29.25x39 poster w/image by L.A. Shaffer depicting US Coast Guard ship accepting surrender of German U-Boat w/passenger ship in bkg. w/"They Kept The Sea Lanes Open" text at top right. Additional text at bottom reads "Invest In The Victory Liberty Loan." Printed by the W.F. Powers Co. Litho of NY. in 1918. Folded as issued, poster has margin wear and aging w/some .25" to .5" tears along fold lines/margins and .75" tear at far right fold crease intersection. VG as is but would benefit from linen-mounting.
