Item Description
All three are from 1982. Both guides have Bill Griffith cover art featuring his Zippy the Pinhead character. Hardcover is 5.75x8.5” w/applied limited edition “22 of 350” sticker signed in ink by Bill Griffith and publisher Jay Kennedy. Comes w/ 8.5x11” typewritten letter from Jay Kennedy to Comic Book Price Guide publisher Bob Overstreet dated Oct. 12,1982. Letter goes into great detail asking for advice and wanting to have a personal meeting. Includes “”I Hope That With Successive Editions, My Underground Guide Will Become As Thorough As Your Comic Book Price Guide And Gain Similar Acceptance”. Signed in ink “Take Care, Jay”. Letter has horizontal center fold as mailed, right margin edge has minor creasing. Body of letter is Exc. Guides are choice NM copies. Historic and unique trio related to important underground and mainstream comic book price guide publishers. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection. Comes w/Hake’s COA.
