Item Description
5x8" glossy card has portrait photo image of Kid Chocolate w/nice black ink inscription in Spanish signed w/his real name Eligio Sardinas as well as his fighting name "Kid Chocolate." Text at bottom also has his real name and touts him as the "World's Greatest Boxer." Text also includes manager's New York City address and phone number. Photo is lightly but evenly aged w/scattered lt. dust soiling. Card has some handling wear w/scattered creases and minor corner foxing. Pinhole at top right and lower left. Fine overall. Fantastic image w/bold inscription/signature. Kid Chocolate was Junior Lightweight Champion from 1931-1933 and the NY World Featherweight Champion from 1932 to 1934. He won a total of 131 bouts, losing nine w/six draws. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
