Item Description
Both are India ink on thin art boards w/four panels, complete w/ Chicago Tribune copyright stickers. Each has 5.75x19.75” image area. Dates are near consecutive May 19 and 21. Winnie is in every panel. Storyline has her in office talking w/boxer Marty Mulligan who is placing a $7500 bet on boxing fight. She then reads about the fight, and criticizes Mulligan for losing his money. He says “I Didn’t Lose It- That Tramp Kid Boffo Lost It For Me!” as Winnie shakers her head. Bold “Branner” signatures in last panels. Trace of lt. dust soil, otherwise Exc. w/nice blue pencil color added to Winnie’s dress in second strip. Nice examples of this strip, the first to revolve around a “working girl”.
