Elaborately designed 11x14” hardcover photo album has silk embroidered covers that are decorated with flowers and flying crane accents. Title is repeated on cover and title page and includes name of Japanese newspaper "Yomiuri Shimbun" as well as "Tokyo, Japan." Left side held together with string as originally bound. 30 stiff paper pages w/gilt edges each have a high quality photograph glued in place on page front. One panoramic stadium in game photo is 6.5x30", the other 29 are each about 7x9". Images include full team photos of the Giants and their Japanese competition, in game action shots, Japanese scenic and culture images featuring members of the Giants, etc. Overall a great documentation of this event. Included throughout are Hall Of Famers Monte Irvin (who appears in over a dozen of the photos) and manager Leo Durocher. Cover edges show some wear/fraying of the fabric covering. Pages lightly aged.
