Item Description
9.25x11.75" frame contains handwritten letter in black felt tip pen on Thames Talent Ltd. letterhead. Letter has been dated Sept. 7, 1982 and was written by Roger Glover, best known as the bassist for the rock band, Deep Purple. Letter reads "Dear John, Even In Deep Purple Days I Never Had The Chance To Play At The Garden, So It Was Understandably An Immense Thrill For Me To Do It With Rainbow. You Personally Made Me Feel Very Comfortable And I'm Grateful [sic]. Now You Send Me A Framed Poster And, As They Say In The Trade, I'm 'Blown Away'. Thank You So Much. Yours Sincerely, Roger Glover." Letter is folded as mailed but as framed, displays Exc. As mentioned in the letter, after Deep Purple, Glover was the bassist, lyricist and producer for Ritchie Blackmore's band, Rainbow from 1979 to 1984. Comes w/12x16" photostat proof for concert poster for June 19, 1982 Rainbow (w/Scorpion) concert at Madison Square Garden. Poster has been revised w/"Sold Out" banner. Text at top left reads "John Scher In Association With Cedric Kushner Presents." Margins have uneven edges as trimmed from larger sheet, but entire poster design is present. Scattered handling wear w/crease at top right. If matted and framed, would display VF. Unique. From the collection of John Scher, legendary concert promoter, producer and manager and comes with COA signed by him.
