Item Description
35" long Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Louisville Slugger Baseball bat from 1937. This bat was a presentation bat to the members of the 1937 National League pennant winning team, the New York Giants. The bat came from the estate of Cliff Melton, who played for the team from 1937-1944. It features names of Hall of Famer's Mel Ott and Carl Hubbell, most noted for striking out five future Hall of Fame players consecutively in an All-Star game. The bat features facsimile signatures for the position players and regular engraved type letters for the pitchers, for a total of 28 names in all. Shows very little wear since it was not game used and is Fine. A rare and interesting piece of baseball history.
