Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 13.75" tall robot w/attached 5" long tin litho remote control made in Japan by Alps/Rasko, 1960s. Box shows some scattered wear w/corner creases and some edge creases to lid. Nicely illustrated lid has moderate but even aging but this does not detract from overall appearance. Two side panels have some moisture spotting. Fine overall. Robot is mostly tin litho w/hard plastic robot head helmet that fits over tin litho astronaut head. Additionally, toy has hard plastic hands, feet and transparent plastic covers on center chest gauge (w/moving indicator), spinning color wheels at left and right side of chest and over moving piston display below chest. Toy walks, arms swing, pistons in chest pump, color wheels spin, head lights (translucent plastic ears, eyes and forehead). Original antenna present, but w/crack to antenna connector. Still stays in place for display but no longer revolves. Toy also has dual rocket-launchers on back and comes w/pair of 7" long plastic rockets which fire in sequence when toy is operating. Toy has one spot factory paint touch-up on shoulder but overall, toy is Exc. Wonderful and elaborate design.
