Item Description
3" tall Mickey Mouse figure w/metal umbrella in hand, total height to top of umbrella is 4.5" tall. c. 1932. Mickey's name appears on right side of his body in painted raised lettering and raised Walt Disney copyright is on left. Underside of umbrella is marked "Germany" in white paint. From an exceptional series of Mickey and Minnie Mouse metal figures, some of which were designed as useful objects (like ashtrays). This stand-alone figure is version which holds an umbrella in his left hand. Color variety w/Mickey wearing green shorts w/yellow buttons. Figure has even, lt. aging, only really noticeable on white areas and a few small scattered paint flakes, most prevalent to tip of fingers and umbrella handle. Complete w/wire tail. Umbrella has "Del. Water Gap" painted in white on top, though partially illegible due to some paint flaking along one umbrella rib and at top center. Fine-VF overall. A great, high quality figure. All pieces in this series are scarce. Aside from noted paint wear on umbrella, this example is about as nice as they come and is among the best we have ever offered. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
