Item Description
Large 11x54" single-sided porcelain sign for New York City Subway. Sign was created by the Balto. En. & Nov. Co. as noted at lower right corner. 1920s. Sign reads "To Up Town" and has large arrow pointing to the left. Additional text reads "Local And Express Trains." Usual and typical wear to porcelain around holes made as intended for hanging sign. Largest area at bottom center measures 1.5x2". These do not detract greatly from overall appearance, which remains Fine. Scarce and early.
