Item Description
Two 8.5x9-7/8" stiff paper double-sided sheets for 1956 "Colt Family Day" has National Bohemian beer ad on reverse while front has list of player's names, numbers, positions as well as height, weight, college and year they joined the NFL. This was a pre-season event. At left is a blank area provided for autographs, and both sheets have been filled out in pencil by 31 players. Hall of Fame member signatures include - Johnny Unitas (who has signed "John Unitas"), Lenny Moore, Gino Marchetti, Art Donovan and Raymond Berry. Other key signatures include - Alan Ameche, Art Spinney, Alex Sandusky, Buddy Young, Bill Koman and Joe Campanella. All other signatures listed online. The event took place at Hoffa Field at Western Maryland College. First sheet has moderate aging w/lt. margins at right and bottom as framed. Fine. Signatures remain distinct and legible. Other sheet (w/Unitas signature) is lightly aged w/strip of aging at top margin and some scattered aging. Top and bottom signatures have age spotting on sheet, but signatures remain distinct. Fine/VF overall w/clear signatures. Rookie year Unitas signatures are scarce and desirable, this signature having the added bonus of being from the event that introduced Unitas to professional football. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
