Item Description
10.5x15.75" thin artboard has Jose Delbo's original pen and ink art for Feb. 1980 issue of "Wonder Woman" #264. Art is for "A Bomb In The Bird Is Worth Two In The Band" story by Gerry Conway and features Wonder Woman attempting to save crowd of anti-nuclear weapons protesters in Washington, DC from pack of mechanical Reahs (large flightless birds similar to ostriches) that have been rigged w/bombs. This plan was put in place by El Gaucho, an Argentinean villain. Four-panel art is for page 19 as noted at top right, top margin also having title and issue number in black marker. Art has a few areas of white correctional fluid, but not distracting. Wonder Woman is featured in three of the four panels, using her Magic Lasso to corral the Rheas, ultimately revealing the bombs. Two of Wonder Woman's catchphrases appear on this page - "Merciful Minerva" and "Great Hera." Exc.
