Item Description
JFK announced January 2, 1960 he was running for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. A few days later, he was in the important primary election state of Wisconsin. First is 8x10" glossy photo with hand written caption "Ashland Wisconsin 1960" on a piece of clear tape on the lower right margin. With the photo is hand written 3x5" paper reading "Ashland, Wisconsin/January 1960/Small Coffee Shop/Where We Had A/Reception Of 30 Or/40 People./John And Jackie/Kennedy, Jerry Bruno, Behind Her." Reverse of photo has New York Times copyright rubber stamp notice, numerous pencil notations relating to publication and pencil note "To Be Returned To Jerry Bruno." 1.25" crease and tiny nick on each upper corner. Fine. The two hotel keys are both from rooms JFK used in Milwaukee during his primary campaign visits. Each has key plus fob. Both show age from years of use. At 6.75" long is hotel Schroeder key for room 1423. At 9.25" long is hotel Pfister key for room 417. This brass key has some dark green tarnish on the bow. These four items come with Letter of Provenance from Jerry Bruno stating: "Hotel Keys: I Got The Hotel Keys When I Was Making Arrangements For The Rooms For John F. Kennedy, As A Candidate And Then As A President. And On Our Departure Because Of The Rush, I Never Returned The Keys."
