Item Description
c. mid-1950s. 8.5x17x5" deep, brown box with color photo label on one side contains #75 lithographed metal Space Port. Box shows moderate overall aging. Fine. Contents are near complete. Tin litho contents include eight fence sections and entrance way marked "Superior Space Port", space cannon w/shell, space drome  building with two tower sections. All are illustrated with futuristic lithography. Controllers are seen in tower section and space ships/aliens images are shown on the revolving radar screen. Mechanical features operated by cranks include clicking "Space Raid" alarm and turning radar screen inside tower. Floor shows lt.oxidation in a few spots. Rest of tin pieces show some light scratches/wear, overall Fine/VF. Hard plastic pieces include space cars and manual rocket launchers w/rockets, eight aliens, and two saucers which were to be launched from mechanism on tower. Hard plastic pieces all Exc. Comes with original instructions, aged but in nice condition. Missing items are ten space men with helmets and two atomic bombs. Comes with two extra fence sections and an extra rocket. Elaborate set produced during the 1950s space craze era.
