Item Description
First is 7x8" letter dated March 24, 1964 on stationery from "Assistant Secretary Of The Treasury" Robert A. Wallace (signed "Bob") addressed to "Gerald Bruno/Democratic National Committee" (D.C.) and reading: "Dear Jerry: I Felt That You, Particularly, Should Have This New Kennedy Half Dollar On Its First Day Of Issue." Stapled below in thin plastic sleeve is slightly tarnished JFK half dollar. Stationery is tanned with a few tiny marks and tears. VG. Comes with aged original envelope postmarked March 24, 1964. Good. Also included is a second example of the half dollar but this has been die-struck to produce very high relief image of JFK about .25" in depth. Minor tarnish. This comes in 1.25" square hinged plastic box with gold text on lid "First Issue/Silver/Kennedy/Half Dollar." There is also an insert card that reads "Limited/Issue/Only 500." Next are identical pair of plastic cases 2.25x3" with insert that holds the coin but with JFK image and reverse plated in a lustrous gold color. Each insert reads "John F. Kennedy/1917/1963/Memorial Half Dollar." Minor tiny case scuffs. Coins Mint. Last is 3.75" square plastic case holding one ounce .999 Fine Silver ingot with serial number on reverse "00037." Front of ingot reads "A Day To Remember/President John F. Kennedy/November 22, 1963." Light wear on case. Normal tarnish on Mint ingot. Jerry Bruno Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
