Item Description
On May 15, 1972, George Wallace was shot five times by Arthur Bremer while campaigning at the Laurel Shopping Center in Laurel, Maryland. This 3x6" numbered ticket stub was issued for the evening event of that day. Text reads "Maryland For Wallace Fund Raiser/The Barn/Ritchie Highway/Glen Burnie/Md./May 15, 1972/Open Bar 5:30-6:30 PM/Dinner 6:30 PM Dress Informal/$25 Per Person/Sponsored By: Maryland For Wallace Committee" followed by Committee Officers names. Ticket number "563." Light creases and dust soil. Inked list of names on back that seem to be seating assignments. Includes name of Maryland State House Senator Harry McGuirk. We don't know if the event went on as scheduled but the small ticket admission is gone from the left perforated edge. Rare.
