Item Description
1977. Large 9.5x19" stiff illustrated cardboard envelope contains partial kit which was available for limited time and marked "Not To Be Sold After December 31st, 1977." Flap on reverse has lt. creases as originally opened w/several surface paper lifts/remnants underneath, but envelope is clean w/VF appearance. Kit is missing the Early Bird certificate (receipt stub present) that was mailed in to obtain a set of four Star Wars action figures available prior to the release in stores. Main piece of kit is 18x18" stiff cardboard sheet that was to be used as display stand for the first 12 figures in the Star Wars Kenner action figure line. Attached to the bottom of sheet are a pair of full color photos and "Space Club Card" which have not been separated along perforation. Membership card is blank. Small tabs where action figures were to be placed have been punched out. Also missing is 2.5x4" sticker sheet. Display is NM. Set of four Kenner Star Wars action figures available prior to their release in the stores acquired by mailing in Early Bird Certificate are in  5x8x1.25" deep mailer box contains plastic tray w/first four action figures including standard blonde Luke Skywalker w/the standard lightsaber, Princess Leia w/pistol, Chewbacca w/bowcaster and R2-D2. Box has some wear from mailing as expected with some creasing. Fine w/contents Exc. as packaged, all figures with original bags, which have been neatly opened. No other paperwork included. The very first action figures in the original Star Wars line.
