Complete set consists of original cardboard salesman's sample case w/a total of six illustrated cardboard "Betty Crocker Cereal Trays," used to hold an assortment of five single serving, 1 oz. boxes of General Mills cereal - Cheerios, Wheaties and Kix. ©1948 G.M.I. Aside from images of each cereal, each tray features different illustrations of airport buildings. These numbered buildings include - No. 1 Naval Hangar, No. 2 Terminal Building, No. 3 Operations Building, No. 4 Control Building, No. 5 Airlines Hangar, No. 6 Army Hangar. Each tray is complete w/silverware coupons intact. Each tray also has detailed list of the six different "Airport Packages" in this set along w/assembly instructions. Scattered lt. corner tip wear, but buildings have never been assembled and trays are VF-Exc. overall. Original cereal boxes w/promotional text only held the toys to go w/this set, these trays being the only way to obtain the buildings. Case shows age and scattered handling wear, mainly to corners. Fine overall. Rare promotional set and the first of such we've offered in our 48 years.
