Item Description
Two items. 7-7/8x9-7/8” cardboard mount has c. 1920 photo attached in center w/4.5x6.5” image area. Ten member team in full uniforms are in front of “Gillette Safety Razor Office” building along w/two men in suits and derby hats. Player at far right front row holds bat, and gloves, bats, and catchers mask are in foreground. Lower right corner of mount has imprint w/ photographer’s name and place “F.E. Dorr Everett”. Photo has lt. aging and slight fading, but image is clear and Fine. Next is 8x10” b/w mat finish photo titled “Gillette World Series Victory Dinner Harvard Club October 18, 1939” showing numerous company executives in suits in dining room facing camera. Man in background holds baseball bat and numerous hanging signs promote “Gillette World Series Broadcast”. Photo has slight curl, otherwise Exc. New company president Joseph Sprang had purchased broadcast rights to the Series for $100,000 which would lead Gillette to many future sponsorships of sporting events. Unique pair to frame together.
