Item Description
Both are for “Buck Jones Frontier Marshal” stories. Each has 13x18” india ink image area on thick art board. First page is from Nov. 1940 issue w/eight panels w/Buck in two panels. Storyline has one villain shooting another in courtroom and being questioned by Buck, then released w/pretty blonde. Second page is from Jan. 1941 issue. Outlaw sheep men set fire to ranch house. One escapes, but is shot by Buck who asks the other outlaw to help get back sheep. Buck is in all seven panels. Both pages have aging w/some white-out corrections. First page has loose bottom tier. Image area overall Good/VG. Interesting early art which also appeared in Great Britain’s “Slam Bang” comics. Buck Jones was the first western film star to appear in comics w/this series in “Master”.
