Original art is drawn and lettered in lead pencil on 8.5x11” paper sheets for Western Publishing. First two are nicely hand colored in pencil. Includes eight page “Woody Woodpecker The Great Train Robbery” for #140 Sept. 1974, four page “The Pink Panther Reel Pink” for #3 July 1971, six page “The Inspector Case of The Police Person” for “Pink Panther” #22 Aug. 1974, six page “Bugs Bunny Magical Wabbit” for “Bugs Bunny” #160 Sept. 1974. Sheets have lt. creasing and trace of aging, “Reel Pink” story has loose replaced two panel bottom tier on page one. Overall Fine/VF. Comes w/1977 typewritten letter on company letterhead to Bob Overstreet mentioning meeting, enclosed scripts, comic book values. Signed “Del” in ink. Exc. Del Connell started as an artist at Disney Studios in 1939 working on features and shorts, and later moved to the Dell Comics division of Western Publishing, becoming a writer and editor. He created “Space Family Robinson” which became “Lost in Space” and also wrote the daily and Sunday Mickey Mouse comic strip for 20 years. Superb examples of his writing and story art.
